Year of foundation: 1948

Origins and development: In Ortona the Salesian Centre has been founded with the aim of providing young people of the town a safe place to live and to receive an education. “Il Villaggio del Fanciullo” soon became a Salesian Vocational School for shoemakers, carpenters, mechanics. In the following years, the first two types of courses have been gradually cancelled, the mechanics have been renewed and new courses for electricians and electromechanical, and more recently for computer technicians, have been started The Salesian Vocational Training Centre of Ortona has always been characterized by an intense collaboration with local communities and businesses; the latter, in particular, have found in the Vocational Training Centre the ideal structure for their training needs. 

Sectors and activities today: it promotes Initial, Continuing and Higher Vocational Training activities.
It mainly operates in Automotive, Electrical and Mechanical sector. It is not publicly funded.
