Bra

Year of fundation: 1979
 

Origins and Development: The Vocational Training Centre of Bra was born in 1979, replacing the existing Professional Institute of Industry and Handicrafts, as part of the Salesian Institute of "San Domenico Savio", a centre created in 1959 together with a technical school, which was succeeded by the goodwill, the middle school, the industrial Technical Institute and an oratory and youth center.

 Sectors and activities today: it promotes Initial and Continuing Vocational Training activities not publicly funded and other activities.

It mainly operates in Mechanical, Automotive and Personal care services sector.

Fossano

Year of fundation: 1979

Origins and Development: The Vocational Training Centre of Fossano was born in 1979 as an evolution of a pre-existing training reality, the vocational school “Bongioanni”, in line with the principles of  “Salesian professional school”.  For decades has been supplying qualified workforce for companies working on the vast territory of Cuneo’s province. The vocational training purpose of the school is to ensure to students tools and values and introducing them into labour market with a strong qualification and motivation. In our educational project, technical training has relevance but it does not end with teaching a "trade"; also promotes the "culture of people and work," linking it to the particular economic and social context from which the students come with their specific potential and training needs.

Novara

History:

The birth of Salesian work is linked to the figure of Fr. John Baptist Ferrando, who convinced the major rector of the time to create a community also in Novara.

On December 5, 1893 the first salesian activity was inaugurated.

Novara VET centre was established as a branch of the San Benigno Canavese VET centre.

Turin - Rebaudengo

Year of foundation: 1967
 

Origins and Development: The Institute of Rebaudengo was a gift from Count Eugenio Rebaudengo, Senator of the Kingdom, Salesian Cooperator and a great admirer of the works of Don Bosco. The first stone was laid in the year of Don Bosco’s beatification (1929). On October 4th 1930, with the building still under construction, the first vocational courses started with 58 kids. The facility, the machinery and equipment, as well as the rich didactic plan and the teaching staff  experience have suggested to open up more to the territory by launching a Vocational Training Centre, for the youth of the city and neighboring towns. In 1967, daytime classes begin in the Vocational Training Centre (CFP). The following year the VTC became the daytime central activity of  Rebaudengo.

Turin - Valdocco

Origins and development: The Vocational Training Centre of Turin – Valdocco, holds a historic record: it is in fact the direct descendant of the first School of Arts and Crafts in which Don Bosco, began his great educational adventure for the disadvantaged youth, in 1853. Following the tradition of the "Professional Salesian Schools", the Centre of Valdocco has been providing skilled workers for decades to companies operating in Turin and province.

Vercelli

Origins and development: The Salesians of Don Bosco began their work in the City of Vercelli at the "Belvedere" in 1912. The Vocational School started in the academic year 1946/47 thanks to the initiative of the parish priest, Don Tomè Bartolomeo and the Salesian lay Vincenzo Diana. The greatest development moment of the facility occurred in 1970 with the inauguration of the new building destined to the Mechanics laboratory. Since 1972 the Centre has been recognized with the Presidential Decree of 15 January 1972, as the n°10 by the Piedmont Region. The facilities and equipment are updated according to changing technologies and the different types of courses.
